China Eastern Airlines (China Eastern) kicked off its annual open day online on Nov. 10. The well-designed online activity has so far attracted reporters from more than ten well-know global media outlets.
Featuring four virtual reality (VR) technology-based exhibition halls and a CIIE-themed music video, the online open day, or CEAir’s Cloud Open Day, aims to bring visitors closer to China Eastern through the special trip to its exhibition booth at the 3rd CIIE, CIIE-themed aircraft, VIP lounge, and headquarters.
The Cloud Open Day is available on multiple major social media platforms around the world, including WeChat, Sina Weibo, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and Tik Tok.
The virtual exhibition hall showcasing China Eastern’s colored CIIE-themed aircraft allows visitors to not only get a close look at the exterior of airplane, but “enter” the plane’s cabins, including the areas of economy class, business class, first class, and the cockpit where passengers are usually not allowed to visit.
Three of the company’s newest aircraft types bought from Boeing Company and Airbus, B777, B787, and A350, are also exhibited at this area.

During the six-day 3rd CIIE concluded on Nov. 10, China Eastern signed two major contracts worth over $1.1 billion, attracting the attention of foreign media.
In addition, the etiquette group of the 3rd CIIE made up of China Eastern’s Ling Yan (flying swallow) female flight attendants have also draw great attention at the event.
In the VIP Lounge part of the Cloud Open Day, China Eastern brings visitors to its VIP lounge at the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. The spacious rooms and classic traditional Chinese style decoration is particularly impressive.
The MU City virtual exhibition hall unveils the headquarters of China Eastern. The company opened to the public such areas as security department, passenger cabin department, flight department, supermarket MU Select, and OCC hall.
While inviting global visitors to its Cloud Open Day, China Eastern also released a music video featuring a CIIE-themed rap song created and performed by its employees and CIIE-related elements such as the colored CIIE-themed plane and the venue for the CIIE.
