The China Premium Textile Exhibition (South Africa) (CPT) has successfully attracted significant international attention since its inception in Cape Town, running for five consecutive editions. The 2024 exhibition is set to be the largest yet, spanning over 5,000 square meters and featuring more than 300 exhibitors. Since its establishment in 2016, the number and quality of professional visitors have steadily increased. Post-exhibition data shows that leading industry retailers and agents, including Pep, Woolworths, Poetry Stores, Home Choice, and Mr Price Group, were present at the event. Analyzing the data, manufacturers, boutique retailers, importers/traders, service providers, and department stores were the primary visitor categories. Fabric was the most popular product category, followed by menswear, footwear and accessories, outdoor sportswear, and womenswear.
The CPT is held concurrently with the Allfashion Sourcing Cape Town, which focuses on apparel, textiles, leather, and footwear. Michael Dehn of Messe Frankfurt South Africa emphasized that Messe Frankfurt, the world's third-largest exhibition company, places great importance on emerging markets like Africa. Establishing a presence in South Africa is a key strategic initiative for the company. Leveraging the textile trade promotion experience and Messe Frankfurt's global exhibition network, the event promises to deliver a visually captivating and highly engaging showcase that will appeal to buyers across Africa.
